Artist Statement
When I was younger I loved to dig through the jewelry boxes of my maternal relatives. I would find little trinkets with a history, and imagined they were magic relics from a secret ritual. In time I collected jewelry from silver artists, finding things that were hand made and unique.
Much of my inspiration comes from nature, or symbols of ancient cultures. I am also inspired by the textures and colors of the material itself, and enjoy working with precious metal clay, silver wire, beads, pearls, glass, enamel, stone and found objects.

Often I will visualize the completed piece before I start. I also create small components that will wait, sometimes years, to find the piece of jewelry they belong to. I make things that I would wear, and want the owner of my work to feel as though they have found a special treasure. |
